What's the best hook in your opinion?

Mine so far is the Slime Hook, it has decent range and can grapple 3 times. I was using the Web Slinger but it's way too short.
I'm about to get to HardMode so i'll probably change it with something else in the future.

I really like the Anti-Gravity Hook, its awsome to use! But i think the Lunar Hook may be the best one, since u can grapple 4 times.

yeah lunar hook is the best. and easy to craft in lunar event. altought its little useless since i didnt dig down to find any ore's in post lunar.

Terrible range on it though, as in, really bad. I´m at the lunar stage and still use the Fish Hook, I may have developed some fish-based dementia from all the fishing quests i´ve done.

Hear hear, with the angler set in the social slot for fast equip, fin wings and fish hook you feel a bit like a fishing fanboy.

I've always liked the Ivy hook, easy to get, 3 hooks, then the direct upgrade from plantera thorn hook.

The three new chest hooks are pretty good as well, the worm hook, something-body-related hook, illuminant hook. They have great range and one of the even glows (guess which one).

The frost/pumpkin moon hooks are kinda ugly though. I never used them. Who wants an entire christmas tree shot out with lights and everything?

I'm extremely dissapointed by the Anti-Graviry hook.It tries to force you 12 tiles from the latch point and this makes it impossible to use it as an actual hook.

yeah ivy whip is my favorite pre hardmode. then the lunar hook is quite good, though not much use in late game when you have wings. I've tried the anti gravity hook and, while I can understand its usefulness.... well I expect a hook to pull me to a location not let me float in mid-air. didn't really like it

Ivy-hook one love <3.
Tho angler update brought us fishing hook. 3 simultaneously launched hooks will save you 3 times more. Used it on expert mode till the end-game.
Other notable options are festive hook (awesome reach), dual-hook (+2 simultaneous hooks), plantera thorn (ivy hook's direct upgrade).
Best end-game option is anti-gravity hook. Since you basically don't need hooks anymore (i dont even use wings). But this one has unique mechanics useful in certain situations.
