Why gray bricks?

Don't get me wrong, it's nice and all, i was just wondering why i never see stone slab buildings in videos and pictures. When building stone structuers people seem to go to gray brick, but i personally love stone slab a lot more in most cases. is there a reason for this? like maybe it goes well with other stuff? Or is it just preference and i'm the odd man out?

Personal preferences mosly, stone slab looks great when you have large areas filled with it but not so great when it's just a little or for detail because of the large pattern on the texture.

In a grey scale building I tend to mix stone slab and grey bricks together with other tiles as well
