Why the Hell I'm Getting Blinded?

I'm in the Underground, there's no Bat, no Slime, no enemy close and, from nothing, I'm getting blinded.. The hell is that? There's someone with that as me? What's the reason of that?
PS.: I'm playing on Expert Mode, if there's something more that can give me the Debuff Blind, what is it?

Ok... Let me do it better:
First: I'm still in Pre-Hardmode, and be Blinded isn't the problem.
Second: I know the Blind Debuff works, I know who can do it to me and I know how much long it takes to remove without using the Nurse...

My problems is:
WHAT IS GIVING ME THE BLIND?

I know a lot of enemies can hit me and blind me, but I'm not getting hit by an enemy, I'm just getting it from nothing... I'm walking in the Underground and just BAM, I'm blind...
That's what I wanna know, WHAT is going on...

Are you in expert mode?
EDIT: I'm stupid. If you get hit by a bat theres a chance that you can get a 'feral bite' debuff that can cause blindness randomly.

Are you shure it is not an underground slime?, if you are positive it is not, post your problem to the pinned bugs list i guess

With Feral Bite I can receive the Blindness even after kill the Bat?

I'm getting Blinded from nothing, even after kill the Bat.

I know what's going on now... I'm getting hit by a Bat, he hit me the Feral Bite... I killed it and just go away doing my stuffs... From nothing, I'm getting Blinded because of the Feral Bite...

this has just happened to me too but i also randomly got a confused debuff too

Because Feral Bite can inflict you with one of several debuffs, also not sure why you dug up a thread from 7 years ago instead of just making a new thread or looking up what causes the debuff.

this has just happened to me too but i also randomly got a confused debuff too

This is a buff that Bat applies, that randomly gives you a debuff effect. Blind and confusion are two of them.
