Planter Boxes
Hello, as the title says...
I am quite noobish regarding planting, but i still want a plant farm on my new world. Do the planter boxes grow the specific herbs by default (the daybloom one grows daybloom and so on) or do they need seeds gathered form free spawning plans in the world?
I am asking this because i seem to have controversial information; while some of my friends bought planter boxes and placed them they started growing the specific plants without any alteration except placing them in an area, my planter boxes are still empty although i made the exact same arangement as they did.

If anyone has more detailed information and is kind to share it, i'd be grateful.
Have a good day and happy farming.

no, planter boxes are functionally identical to clay pots, except putting multiple planter boxes together will show a connected sprite.

Planter boxes require seeds from spawning plants in your world :) Otherwise it'd spawn regular plants. If you have trouble getting the seeds, i'd definitely reccomend the staff of regrowth as when you use it on a herb, it will yield more than regular harvesting.

Thank you for the quick replies. I have seed stacks stored in some chests for simple pot planting prior to 1.3 update. The only thing that bugs me is why do their planter spawned plant without any planted seed (seemingly).
Anyway have a good day and thank you again for the quick replies.
They don't need to be placed on a table or something. And they can connect to each other.

however there is no differene between the daybloom planter and the blinkroot planter. You can plant shiverthorn seeds in both of them.
