What is your barrier made of?
How thick is it? Crimson/Corruption/Hallow can 'jump' three blocks IIRC.
Did you close it off all the way (so not leaving an opening at the bottom/top for the biome to jump through)?
Are you absolutely certain there was not a single block of Crimson within your barrier before you built it?
Can it be that some extra Crimson has spawned within your barrier (I believe that it can do that if you destroy Altars)?
If my post is stupid/misinformed, please ignore my questions and let me know, I'm trying to learn here as well. Like I said, I never made hardmode, but I did spend quite some time on the wiki, researching stuff and planning my things. Even so, it is perfectly possible that my knowledge is wrong or outdated. If anyone else is able to help better than I did, and chances of that are fairly high, you should probably follow their advice over mine.
Biome background is determined by the number of crimson blocks in a large area. There are still crimson blocks around, probably below the surface.
Can you show a screen shot of the area? (You can take a wide one with the map now.)
Sure:

There is no crimson inside the barrier
Just Regular stone and i've destroyed all the walls
I used the Drill Containment unit so its 5 blocks wide / tall
Yes is completely closed off
100% i use TerraMap and there is no crimson inside
Again i used the map and are no Crimson spores
At the top centre of the 3rd screenshot underneth the house theres a red dot, thats a life crystal not crimstone
i can provide a full world if you need it
EDIT: TLDR your barrier is probably fine, this is just how the game mechanics work with active biome calculation.
Thanks for the help
