Turtle Shell?

So, trying to find some turtle shell in the jungle. Already got my second giant tortoise banner, still 0 drop...

and somehow, I ended with 4 Yelets. Either the turtle shell drop rate is extremely rare, or the RNG just hate me :(

What do you need the shells for? If it's for the full turtle armor i have a spare set.

bad rng. Happens to everyone. I have nightmares about how long it took me to get the necessary broken hero swords for the Terra blade. (pre 1.3)

it works both ways usually. (got 3 rifle scopes in 6 minutes of farming).

Yeah it's bad luck lmfao.

On my melee playthru it was like a bad running gag, every time I went farming for the next best yoyo I'd get something incredibly rare before it. Before the Cascade I found a Demon Scythe, before the Amarok I got a frozen turtle shell, and before I got my yelets I got a freakign jungle key. My luck turned around today when I got 2 Krakens within seconds of each other minutes after I got into the dungeon...

Do you know how a turtle shell looks like? It's like 1 in 10 drop. It must've dropped somewhere and you might've not seen it.

I tend to have more luck below ground but that's probably just placebo. I had my event/bass arena set up in a jungle biome and after each pirate invasion or Moon event there was usually around 6 yelets dropped. So they have a pretty good drop rate.

As a reference though, I have around 220 giant tortoise defeated and I think I have gotten aprox 9 shells in total.

Before 1.3, I know i can find turtle shell, yes it's very rare and you only need like 1-2 piece for the armor. But that was on my old character, now i want to start fresh with a new character and so far i've never got one piece of that damn shell.

I don't know, maybe they changed the drop rate, or maybe its just my bad luck. But hey, at least now I have some spare yoyos... :p

Nah... thanks, but that's okay. I really want to get it by myself, the reward on getting it after much pain is one of the reason why i love this game :D

Rifle scopes? Are you farming it on the solar eclipse event or in dungeon?

I feel your pain....I'm also looking for turtle shells, and im trying to make jungle farms but it seems that every time I put a water candle down LESS mobs spawn. It's weird. Probably just my luck, lol. Anyway I've been killing turtles for the past 2 hours and I haven't gotten ONE. So yes, it's SUUUUUPER annoying...
