Aglet seemingly impossible to find.

I've been scanning a few world's surface chests while using the spelunker potion and I just can't seem to find the aglet, trying to create the endgame fast boots for better speed on Duke. From what I've seen they're even more rare than a turtoise dropping a damn turtle shell.

Edit - Okay so, after making 2-3 large worlds and searching for the aglets I managed to find 2 in 2 chests next to eachother in the JUNGLE, so maybe they made it to where it only spawns in the jungle? Not sure, all I know is as soon as I found surface jungle chests that's when I found 2 aglets. So if you're looking for aglets and are having trouble, try looking in jungle surface chests.

Funny thing, I used to find aglets on almost every chest back then. After I started a new char a few days ago, I made ~10 worlds trying to find a lava charm and then finally (unintentionally) I found my first aglet!

Check the ends of your shoelaces...

Really though, I believe they can appear in any of the normal chests that appear in forest or desert biomes as long as they are in the upper part of the underground. If you don't see one on the surface, try looking in some of the shallow caves.

It's ironic that I have quite a few Aglets, but I dumped them in my sea of chests without labeling them and I can't find them xD

I don't know why the developers made these so hard to find, they're pratically starter gear and useful at that. They should be more common rather than more rare IMO. Just searched the entire surface area and shallow caves on a large world but still I got nothing. Better keep looking I guess.

I dunno, I found at least 4 aglets in my Large world.... but not a single lava charm was spawned. I ended up getting it from another world.

I think they actually lowered the chance for it because people were getting too many of them and not enough other things. That's one of the issues when there are so many options for getting different things in the same place, you usually don't get what you're looking for if you're only looking for one thing. In my dungeon on my Expert world, I got super worried because I couldn't find a SINGLE cobalt shield. Luckily, in one of the last 3 golden chests in a Large world dungeon, I found the damn thing. It always seems like you never get what you're looking for, and have a plethora of everything else, even if most people would prefer the thing you have a billion of.

Yeah I know what you mean... I didn't get an aglet in my world until after hardmode had begun and would have been useless, and even then it was through a wooden crate. WTF, I remember they used to be really common.

Haha, I always forget about the damn fishing crates. Maybe that's why they don't show up as often anymore. And lightning/frostspark boots are a welcome upgrade to something you'll most likely have equipped almost all of the way to the end of the game anyway.

you don't need to use boots for duke fishron, because i'm pretty sure they don't effect your speed while flying
