Stuck on "Connecting to..."
Alright, a few people have had problems with this and I'm another one. Since 1.3.0.6 we've - my friend and I - had trouble connecting to one anothers games. Connecting via Steam gets stuck on this, and we're trying via IP now. We all use "Host & Play" in game, it always used to work over the TerrariaServer.exe.

I'm trying to connect to my friend C's, we have Hamachi active in case the game we want to play doesn't open a port automatically as he's always had problems opening ports no matter where he lives, and he goes through the correct set up.

My Terraria port has been added to the list in my router to be let through to my computer along with more games but open port testers online always say they're closed and oddly now my router won't let me add or edit any more (only got 3.) When I click "Add" or "Edit" it just doesn't work anymore, but Terraria IS on the list. To be honest, we still get a bit confused at which IP to use so we just get all the ones we can find in ipconfig and on "What Is My IP" and Google and stuff but nothing works.

Any fixes yet? Please and thank you!

when you invite a friend to your game just invite them from the game settings, dont invite through steam chat. Click on settings while in game, click invite friends, and wait until they join.
have terraria open, right click ur friend in the friend list and click join game. Never failed me thus far

There are two ways you can go about this:

1. Go to Host & Play, and select a character and world as normal, and start playing. Then, you press Escape, and click "Settings" in the bottom-right hand corner. Click Invite Friends and invite your friends.

2. Let your friend host a game, and you can you go his Steam name and click the little arrow next to his name and click "Join Game".

Using both methods, port-forwarding or Hamachi is not needed. Also, for the record, when you go to port-forward..

1. Go into the Command Prompt and type in 'ipconfig', and find the IPv4 address.

2. Go into your router settings, and open a port with the IP address the same as your IPv4, and the port as 7777. For the protocol (if it is an option), leave it as is.

3. To find the IP your friend needs to connect with, Google "ip" and use the IP address it gives you.

Thanks for all the help guys, be it a bit late. :D Invite Friends never worked for us weirdly, neither did right clicking and joining game. It'd say Server Not Responding (it always has for me when not running a dedicated [or whatever those big servers are] server)

Also thanks for the clarification on IP mariosta! It'll help a lot :)

Since then we've changed routers since lightning struck near our ports on the outside (yno the ones where you rent a telephone line and plug in your router) so it bust our router (but not the telephone...) and my parents couldn't wait 2 days for a new router so they got one the next day which works fine. Haven't tested Terraria yet as I got a PS3 a short while ago and been playing it non stop (hence my replies now and not earlier) but I can add and edit as many port forwards as I want so all should be good :D Thank you again!

Joining their game via clicking join game in steam doesn't fix it for me.
Hm, How about server, When i join a server, it said this, " Connecthing to [numbers] ", Any fix?
