Hardmode: corruption/crinsom destroys sunflowers but they are not uprooted by hallowed.
The wall of flesh is some kind of ''seal'' that keep these highter powers in check, killing it essentially is like removing the master sword from its resting place.
Is that a 1.3 thing?
Since forever
The wiki page for sunflowers[terraria.gamepedia.com] specifically says they stop corruption in hard mode. Under history, it says it was added in 1.2.
You could have just idk concluded that ment when hardmode was a game mechanic and not been a ♥♥♥♥ to try to outsmart me?
ok you wanna play the knowledge game?
When the game first started it was very basic no hardmode or anything then red said he wanted some time with his family.
Then there was a period of ''is the game dead'' then console versions got released then PC players were in a uproar red dared give people on consosles new/different content when PC players made the game successful and popular and got nothing.
Then the patch came in for PC that introduced hardmode, new boss's etc
Ive played this game since launch........... how dare you try to make me look like the fool when need i remind you, you asked the question and had to look up a wiki when i can recall this.
oh btw thats also around the same time dev costume items were in the game but un-obtainable only with the use of infinest or Tshock was wearing these garments safe.
but now in 1.3 anyone can wear them so thats cool.
No need to get angry like that, i don't see the point.
No sunflowers always get uprooted by crinsom/corruption since hardmode was a thing.
but they are safe in hallow
Oh i love complaining or generally putting stupid/cocky people in their places sure hes got some big hot shot steam level but that just means he pumps more money into Valves life support then i do.
But trying to grandstand someone who gave you the awnser you wanted is kinda dumb WHEN HAVE PLAYED THE GAME SINCE IT LAUNCHED
ok you were wrong calm down
I don't even know what you're talking about, he stated a fact about the wiki, nothing more.
There's no point in stating what level he is.
You got mad out of nowhere, just cause he linked a wiki thing. And i would have done that too, if people state a thing and the wiki states another thing then i don't know what or who to believe.
As I talked about in my original post, here's a screenshot of a sunflower

It protects the blocks it's on, but the corruption just went around it. It definitely didn't uproot it.
So sunflowers are definitely still resistant to corruption in some capacity. So are you guys sure that they're 100% useless, not even slowing it?
By gods grace the wiki's are at least half correct about some things.
Sunflowers stop the spread of Corruption/Crimson even in Hardmode (As of 1.2), but they will not stop Hallow. This makes them good if you just want to keep the surface of your world safe from Corruption/Crimson. However, you will have to do the work yourself if you wish to completely clear your world of Corruption/Crimson, especially when they start spreading Underground and below during Hardmode.
They also as of 1.3 grant the Happy! buff (Increases your movement speed and reduces monster spawn rate) as long they are on your screen, but the buff disappears if the Sunflower is too far off-screen like Campfires and Heart Lanterns, To counter this, place another Sunflower exactly in the spot where the buff disappears at or further away. The buff does not stack with multiple Sunflowers.
