In expert mode, it's still all about menacing/lucky, right? Damage and Critical above all else, while you get dash and defense from other items?

So I've gotten to a point where my main equip slots and social slots are both packed with awesome things, and even more awesome-er things keep appearing. What do you guys use post-golem? I'm having a hard time deciding between the following:

Shield of Cthulhu - Dash is crack, and hard to ignore.
Frostspark Boots - Running fast combined with the dash makes evading in boss fights much easier.
Worm Scarf - Because expert mode.
Ankh Shield - This thing is always OP, right?
Wings - I feel like I might be using these out of habit? I have a cosmic car key, I can get a bad flight from frostspark. Would boss fights be too hard without these?
Charm of Myths - 45 second cooldown on potions I like a lot.
Shiny Stone - I side this in to heal at times.
Destroyer Emblem - 14% damage, 8% critical is amazing, but does it do anything more than help me win a fight I'm already winning, but faster?
Spore Sac - I usually bring this in when I'm playing in the dungeon or jungle, where the attack-through-walls thing is nice
Just finished a CELESTIAL SHELL, and don't know what to replace. This thing is straight up amazing, right? regen, defense, offense, speed, the whole bit?

What do you guys use this late in the game?

In regards to bosses and serious fighting:

I use almost all defense, especially since defense has a greater effect in expert mode than normal mode. I've done all content on expert mode, so it will take you to the end.

-Nebula armor (high hp regen, mp regen, 45% damage buff) with Lunar flare. I'm not sure what the life regen is, but my guess is 30 health/second.
-Wings are useless and a wasted slot if you have the cosmic car.
-Fishron mount is actually better, but you need to build an underwater arena for the damage and speed buff.
1. Warding worm scarf - 17% damage reduction
2. Warding Frozen turtle shell - 25% damage reduction (often overlooked, but really important)
3. Warding Star Veil - 2x invuln frames or 50% damage reduction if under constant damage
4. Warding Celestial Cuffs - infinite mana, fuels my constant buffs and dps
5. Warding Ankh Shield - Knockback reduces your momentum and ruins your dodging, so this is a must.
6. Warding Celestial Shell - it gives good all round stats and allows you to breathe underwater if you are riding the Fishron.

My philosophy about stat building is that the boss is always going to take a long time to kill, so damage is not that important. But if the boss can never kill me, then I will win, right?

Personally I think i depends on what class your playing for example my old mage and the one getting to endgame right now use menacing because your defence is already almost completly sacrificed for offence as a mage so i ust add to that logic as a mage and use damage increasing accessories with menacing and like wise for a warrior defence is key or you get killed in a boss fight damage reducing items with warding and i don't really play ranger at all but I would imagine either lucky or menacing or perhaps a mix of both.

well for moon lord, i go for high defense, i can get around 110 def with up to 77% damage reduction, and this is what i use and why
Full beetle armor, okay so you could argue that solar is better, but solar is better for damage and not as good for tanking, even though it has somewhere around 5 more def, beetle armor has another 15 percent reduced damage, so there's 45 percent already
Accessories;
Frozen turtle shell, 1% drop from frozen turtles in the underground frozen biome, and when under 50% hp you will take 25% less damage, so that's 60 percent in total sofar
Worm scarf, expert eater of worlds drop, 17% less damage taken, so that's 77% reduced damage when under half hp and with beetles, so that's basically no damage
Wings, (prefferably from the pillars) now, i know you could just use cosmic car key, but wings fly up more quickly, making it alot easier to avoid projectiles, so you take less damage
Flesh knuckes, this accessory drops from the crimson mimics 7 defense, with warding it's 11 defense with one accessory... and that's just... alot...
Ankh shield, crapton of accessories combined, with warding this is 8 defense, no knockback, no fire block damage, and pretty much no pre debuffs, i wouldn't reccomend using paladin shield, even though it's another 2 defense, no debuffs is alot better than 2 defense
Charm of myths, as you said, very useful because in a long fight it can pretty much double your health, which is amazing, especially for such an early accessory.

and with anything that isn't hard that i want to just get past quickly, i use nebula armor with last prism and mana flower, that will kill everything pretty much, but you don't have as much defense.

Also i use warding on everything, just to take extra precaution and make sure nothing can damage me ever.

I hope this helped!

I fought the Moon lord in expert with this equipment:
Full beetle armor in the first fase( the eyes in his hand and the one in his head are still on)
when his heart popped out I switched to the shroomite armor
I had a vortex beater with chlorophyte bullets to keep the distance
BTW I was fighting him in a minecart track all across the space of a large map
For accesories, I had: warding worm scarf (it's just stupid to ask why)
Warding paladin' shield (switched to the frost turtle shell when -50%hp)
Warding flesh knuckles (SO MUCH ARMOR)
Warding celestial shell ( 7 armor when at night +4 armor w/ warding prefix)
Warding star veil (changed to Charm of myths only to heal)
Was an easy pz fight :steambored:
