Can't wear 2 shackle, cloud in bottle, etc

For some reason, one of my characters can't wear two shackles at once. he can use any one shackle in any of the equipment slots, but it wont allow a 2nd one to be equipped until I remove the first.

Same goes for wearing 2 clouds in a bottle, and other similar items.


The funny thing is, I've done it already with other characters so I know it's possible.

Ive tried swapping out gear to see if there was some mystery stat that didnt allow 2 of a kinds to be equipped in equip slots but I've come up with nothing.


anyone else come across this?

anyone know why its happening or how to fix?


playing on self-hosted server, as my other chars were, on expert, medium size world.

You sure? Can you remember what it was you equipped two or more of? I think an extra one can go in the Social slot, yes, but not two both having an effect...

The WoF's Demon Heart might do something different... probably not.

ouch! for real? that seems... totally bananas...

but, the char that wears 2 of stuff that I have, I made him like 8 or 9 days ago, certainly after the major update; I never played terraria before that (except like 1 hour farming cards not really playing)

he can't put 2 shackles on anymore though, i had switched them out and now he can only use one of them at a time...

tsunami in a bottle =/= cloud in a bottle. They may have the same effect, but are two different items that you can equip at the same time (fyi, there's a third one, called sandstorm in a bottle, that you could equip as well, giving you a quadriple jump).

Don't forget about Blizzard in a Bottle and Fart in a Jar. Six jumps altogether.

FYI there's also a Blizzard in a Bottle and a Fart in a Jar, and their respective "in Balloon" variations, along with a Bundle of Balloons.
But why'd anyone want to have so many jumps, lol?

Farm harpy for giant feather...it will take time but a wing is all you need man....best thing ever in terraria.
