Is night's edge any good?

At the moment I have 3 of the 4 swords required to craft Nights Edge. However, both my Muramasa (sorry if I spelled that wrong) and my blade of grass are legendary. Should I just keep those and not even bother with nights edge once I get the last sword?

If you really want the Night's Edge, and you want to keep those items, you could try going to the dungeon and try finding another one (i usually find 2 in my worlds) and try farming for the blade of grass. Even though it'll take quite a while, it'll be worth it.

Night's Edge is a good sword, but the real reason to craft it is that it's used to make a even better sword later in the game (which in turn leads to a third sword which very powerful and only beaten by end game items). Overall Night's Edge is better than the swords that make it. I'd also say it's one of the best pre-hardmode swords.

I don't REALLY want the nights edge, as muramasa is really good, I was just wondering if it would be foolish to not craft it. I'm getting close to hardmode (only 3-4 things left to check off my "laundry list" before the WoF)

If your looking for a good weapon, dont waste your time making a night's edge. The cobalt sword and the palladium sword, which is made very early during hardmode, is as strong or stronger than the night's edge and also has auto swing. But if you are going melee all the way through hardmode, I do reccomend crafting it as it is an ingredient in crafting the Terra Blade.

In that case, sure, keep the muramasa and the other swords. (but remember, it won't do that much knockback. Use the blade of grass or a Fiery Greatsword to do a good amount of knockback.) A legendary muramasa should be good agaisnt the destroyer with a warrior emblem and many other things!

Oh yeah... Completely forgot about the cobalt or palladium sword, as I always usually make a phasesaber instead of them.

Although I do try to carry a good melee weapon on me (honestly I carry 4-6 weapons on me at all times, it's a bad habit) I currently am running meteor armor with some warding accessories and using the space gun, which I am really enjoying. At this point I'm not sure if I want to go ranger or mage in hardmode, I guess I'll see what I find in the dungeon.

In my main (which has no "class") i usually carry 2 of each kind of weapon.
