Uzi or Megashark?

well guys i already defeated the destroyer and i received souls of might that can be used to craft the megashark but i already have an Uzi is the mega shark better?

Yes, in my opinion Megashark is better. Uzi is nice for before that, but make Megashark for later fights, until you get the SDMG or something. :)

Megashark for the hold-down fire rate and the high chance of not consuming ammo. Once you get an unlimited ammo pouch and start using different types of bullets/ammo, the megashark will take you a long way.

The Uzi is better for bosses and other enemies with high defense, but the Megashark is better for dealing with small fry. Megashark is also much more ammo-efficient. I'd say that if there's anything else you want to craft with your Souls of Might, do that first since you already have an Uzi, but if there isn't anything else then go ahead and craft the Megashark.

The Uzi is better because it's less vulnerable to having its DPS crippled by high enemy Defense. The weaker trash mobs aren't much of a threat, you want something that'll be effective against tougher enemies and bosses.

Its bullets also have more velocity than the Megashark's, and more than double the knockback.

The Megashark's only real advantage is potentially saving you expensive ammo should you decide to use it.

Bit of a necro thread, but:

Does the Uzi still drop from Angry Trappers? Because I know a lot has changed since last I played (just started playing again after a year off), and I've probably slaughtered hundreds of the stupid things already (have several banners).

You could have made your own topic, you know, or better yet just consulted the wiki page for the Uzi[terraria.gamepedia.com], where it clearly states that it drops from Angry Trappers.

wiki page for the Uzi[terraria.gamepedia.com]... it states that it drops from Angry Trappers.

depends on the ammo
if its meh ammo uzi
if its high tier ammo/hard to get/craft ammo at that point in time (such as lunar bullets if you barely killed the moonlord once) then go with the megashark

also once you get the sniper rifle form the post-plantera dungeon skeletons you shouldnt worry about the guns
