How is this game good?

Sooooo.... I see many of my friends + other random people online having 500+ hrs on this game and still playing. When i look at gameplay vids on youtube i don't see how this can be that addictive (Never really played a 2d platform game in my life), Please explain to me how this game is so good :( im extremely tempted to buy it ;/

One of the best games i've played, game is really good for anyone who likes fighting, building, crafting, getting burned by lava. etc.

Have you ever played Minecraft before? If you have, have you seen the little quip on the title screen? The one that reads "Less Addictive Than TV Tropes!", I mean.

If you've ever been to TV Tropes, you'll know it isn't saying much to say your product is less addictive. Cocaine is probably less addictive than TV Tropes.

However, I've found that Terraria takes that same ideology and throws it into the other direction entirely. This is literally the first game I've found that I've spent more time on in one month than that site. It's insane.

I think it's great because it's so simple and charming. Basic concept and design with almost every aspect (combat, building, exploration, ect) done really well.

Its like metroid on crack cause the game NEVER ends.

So you have the best gear? heres an update oh now thats not the best.

Bored with bosses? heres an update with harder bosses.

Want to build something cool? Heres an update with more blocks and walls and decorations.

It hasnt ended and collecting everything isnt my style but i havent even beat all the bosses yet and im at 130 hours

OH MY GOD. LEMME TELL YOU. Terraria is overall the best game I have ever played. In the new updates you can style your character and blocks. They've also added new bosses, and, those who think this game is like minecraft, ... no. Just no.

Agreed. They keep updating and making new bosses and more challenges. Whereas Minecraft, They add like 1 new block each update. and im going into my 670th Hour XD

It is way more epic takes much more skil than minecraft trust me ! you kill a zombie and 10 more come at you srsly this game is much harder than minecraft and it is better :D
