Black lens farming

What is an easy way to farm black lensses end-game? i found 2 before i killed skeltron, but i used them on sunglasses. Now, as i am trying to make an optic staff, i can't find a single one. Any tips besides using battle potions and water candles to get more demon eyes would be appreciated.

Black lenses come from Demon and Wandering Eyes, same as the regular lenses. They're just the rare drop version. So just keep killing Demon and Wandering eyes, and you'll eventually find a black lens. Blood Moons, Water Candles, and Battle Potions can increase spawns so you can fight more at once.

My mistake. I do know that they come from demon eyes, however; and the rest of my information is accurate.

Supposedly its a 1% drop rate so you'll get one....eventually.

I believe those start happening automatically once your character has more than 120 health. And at 400 health, pre-hardmode, it feels like I'm getting it at least once a lunar cycle. Sometimes for two or three nights in a row.

I have 500 health and have only gotten one so far since i beat the WoF

You might want to build a long platform in the sky, it makes it easier to kill them and you wont have to deal with ground enimies.

You may also want to consider farming it on a pre-hardmode world, as there'd be fewer types of mobs taking up places in the spawning.

second blood moon in hardmode with about 4.5 minutes left of battle potion(no extras) was spent killing demon eyes, pixies, dark mummies, and corrupterstrying to get: megaphone, vitamins, and black lens. none were gotten. I am now going to try a pre-hardmode world. more than 7 battle pots will be brought

The best way to do this, is to get a water candle, then leave an afk farm in pre-hardmode with minons (spiders preferably)

You can have mine if you want. I seem to find them pretty often.

water candle and battle potion are your friends. Leave it at the night.
Can set a lava trap for afk, but be sure there is not enough to destroy items.
