mechanical bosses?

what weapon should i use on the mechanical bosses (Destroyer,Skeletron prime and The twins).

do u recommend a certain weapon for each or just one weapon for all three.

Well I'd go for the best you can get before facing them. So the 3rd tier of hardmode ore gear would be a great place to start. There's a nice melee weapon you can make early in hardmode by take a Phasesword/Phasesaber (one name is the weapon that you get by forgeing metoerites and the other is the weapon you upgrade it to I just can't remmeber whih name is which) and reforge it with some crystal. Crystal grows in underground Hallow biomes off of Peralstone. Just use a pickaxe to knock it off. That should help you some what, however it's best to trailor your loadout to each boss the first time.

Buy a minishark, then get a Dao of Pow, Magical harp or better. Then kill the Destroyer and make a Megashark.Megasharks are amazing by the way. It's considerably the best gun in the game. Next to the Uzi and Chain Gun. Really anything that infinitely penetrates will do well against the destroyer. For the Twins and Skeletron Prime i've heard the Gravitation potions make the fights 10 times easier, but I did it fine without them. And Magical Bob up there helped me out summoning the Twins.

The Magical Harp is something that you get after you kill the Twins...

But I'd suggest you to use a crystal storm ( Something easy to do and penetrates through multiple targets ), a Orichalcum / Mythril armor , health potions and mana potions
You should be using the Avenger Emblem, any type of wings, Lightning or Spectre boots ( If you have Frostspark use them as they're better ) and the orther two are optional ,that's all you need for the Destroyer

For the Twins ( You rather do this after the Destroyer ) you'd be using a Megashark, around 2500 crystal / explosive bullets and Greater Healing Potions that the Destroyer dropped, along with Adamantite armor or with Hallowed Armor if the Destroyer dropped enough Hallowed Bars.
Again , Avenger Emblem, lighting boots and any wings, along with a Obsidian shield if you got one.

For the Skeletron Prime, you better use a penetration weapon, Megashark can do well but the bullets will most of the time hit his 4 arms and not the actual Skeletron's Prime Head
So you should have the Full Hallowed set, along with a Magical Harp you'd get by combining the Harp, souls of night, a Spell Book and Souls of Sight.
For the acessories I'd say the Obsidian Shield ( If you have the ankh shield, even better ) , Cloud in a Ballon, Any type of wings and Lighting or higher boots, dodging is crucial on this fight!

Demon Scythe is a great spell against the Destroyer.

Megashark is great against the Twins and Skeletron Prime.

Destroyer drops Souls of Might. Souls of Might are used in the making of the Megashark (You will need Shark Fins and Illegal Gun Parts too). Megashark with Crystal Bullets (for the Twins) or Ichor Bullets (for Skeletron Prime) is great against the other two.

Your first Hardmode Boss is kinda clear here. Good luck and have fun. Be sure to build an arena that is at least a really long line of free floating platforms to help with the fight against really any of them.

I seemed to be the only one who had trouble with the destroyer. Even after I got full hallowed armor and a Magical Harp I still couldn't beat him. Eventually, I went on a multiplayer server, killed Golem with some friends, and I went through the trouble to get Beetle armor. Then I could beat the Destroyer.

Another great tip, when fighting the twins, use Hermes or Frostspark boots, and make a skybridge out of wooden platforms, and wings are a must. Like I said earlier, Gravitation potions help, same with Skeletron Prime. Another helpful thing is to use a grappling hook, and make a large tower in the middle of your skybridge, and climb the giant pillar you made with wings and grappling hook. The higher the tower the better. If you summon the Twins up there, you can just hover down, and you will be going at just enough speed to the point where they pretty much never hit you. Just hover down and unload Megashark rounds on them. Another tip, I take Spazmatism down first. He's the crazy one who charges at you. Take him down first, then deal with Retinazer. I found Retinazer really easy when he's alone. Crystal Bullets work like a charm.
Skeletron Prime is the easiest of the three to me. He sounded intimidating before I fought him, but he was a joke. Gravitation potions are your friend here from what i've heard. Just gravitate just out of his reach and shoot him in the skull and he's dead, you can literally fly circles around him and stay just out of his reach and laugh in his face. His very metallic, menacing face. Or just run on your skybridge and shoot blindly when he goes offscreen and then dodge him when he comes flying in quickly into the screen. Either way works fine. for the skeletron battle , when he roars and starts spinning , get to the ground and run backwards , he'll fly towards you and should have all his limbs infront him , facing towards you , at this point spam everything and anything at him :D

The strategy I used to defeat the Destroyer was to wear full Beetle armor, get a Magical Harp, a Star Cloak, and a Cross Necklace, and a Cobalt Shield, I stood inside of the destroyer and fired super low speed shots that hit every part of him that passed through me.

You probably don't have beetle armor yet, so just use Hallowed armor, or Chlorophyte if you can get it. And use an ironskin potion. The Well Fed buff also helps. So buy some Pad Thai from a Travelling Merchant if you see one, or any other thing that gives you the Well Fed buff.
