Can't beat the twins.
I'm basically copying strategies people use on guides, YouTube, etc. Build huge skybridge, kite them around.

I've got the lightning boots, and I spam him with crystal storm/clockwork gun while kiting, but when they go phase 2 and start dashing, they simply catch up to me (even running at max speed), start spraying me with fire and kill me. I can't get any faster. What am I doing wrong?

What I did:
Plat armor, clockwork assault rifle, silver bullets.
999 block bridge. Ran from one end to the other, spammed bullets to kill both of spatnazim's forms first before retinazier. No buffs.
Win.

Yeah that's what I'm doing, except my gear is a little more optimized. The problem is the one that sprays fire is simply catching up to me.

Spatnazim- Are you making sure you're attacking him first? And fyi, at his normal speed, spatnazim is a little bit slower than you are with lightning boots. When he charges, he's quite a bit faster- Simply fly up into the air and he won't catch up. Retanizer hits you quite often, but if you can dodge, spatnazim won't even hit you once.

Do you have everything reforged to either warding or menacing? Do you have the optimal reforge on your main weapon? Are you using thorn, ironskin, and regeneration potions along with a food buff?

Maybe you should upgrade your lightning boots into frostspark boots. Although that would not be a big improvement unless you're running over ice...

I first killed the Twins with a megashark loaded with meteor shot and no skybridge (It would actually make the fight much harder if build in the low gravity zone). It was a long fight with a lot of dodging (wings are essential) and running.
And you always have to kill one Twin at a time, fighting foth in their second forms is pretty suicidal.

yeah, I got frostspark. Most of it's reforged, spellbooks was a bit too expensive to optimize.

Thorn only helps with melee hits, it's the fire that's killing me. No I guess I'm not stacking every single potion. Guess I'll start farming ingredients. -_- Thrilling.

You could try getting better equipment, if you aren't already using the best available. Titanium armor is amazing if your world has titanium. The shadow dodge makes it much better than anything else available at that point (and debatably, better than hallowed, frost, and possibly chlorophyte). You can fish up crates for titanium if your world has adamantite instead. I would use the mask instead of either of the other two helmets, as the vastly higher ac (15 more!) is worth more than the extra damage.

Use buff potions if you're not already. Ironskin and regen are the most critical ones, but speed helps too (and would probably be particularly helpful with your strategy). If you use crystal storm a lot, magic power is also good. The new potions from fishing can also contribute - rage, wrath, endurance, and lifeforce potions are all good choices. You'll want a potion-making setup someday if you don't have one already.

Explosive bullets are an option with the clockwork repeater. They do double damage (once for the bullet, once for the explosion) on a direct hit, which makes them more damaging than anything else except potentially crystal bullets (and chlorophyte due to the homing effect, but you can't get those yet). Be careful about self-damage. If the repeater doesn't have a good modifier, reforge until you get one.

Tagging them with ichor will increase the damage of all subsequent hits until it wears off. The best way is probably to have a ranged melee weapon (like a boomerang) and a flask of ichor, or to use a repeater with ichor arrows. These works well because they have a long duration (longer than golden shower) and don't require you to stop using explosive bullets (like ichor bullets would).

Make sure you have good accessories. Lightning boots are a start (although you might as well upgrade them to frostspark someday). I would also have some sort of wings and maybe a horseshoe balloon. Upwards mobility helps a lot with the Twins so you can get over and around them. The charm of myths would also be good. Try to reforge at least some of them to warding, or at least something good (one or two with menacing or quick isn't bad either). If you get caught in the flames and can't get away, a cobalt shield or better (to eliminate knockback) or a panic necklace or better (to give a quick burst of speed) might be worth a try.

All of that should help. If it doesn't, maybe try not using a skybridge and just fighting them normally. I didn't have too much trouble with them in my last game and I've never used a skybridge (or even a really elaborate arena).

Well,you prodabally should fightdestroyer first

Alright I finally got it down. Didn't really do anything different, one time the AI just wasn't as aggressive/lucky and I wore it down. Then I got one of those spontaneous Skeletron Prime battles and beat it on the first try - with a bunch of pre-Plantera summoner gear, no less. Seems like everyone finds one of them dramatically easier than the others, I guess that's Skeletron Prime for me. Or maybe it just means that Prime doesn't handle summoners well. Probably has something to do with his lack of adds.

So for anyone that comes on here later, I was lucky to find a drax in hell, and I mined some chlorophite. I made some bullets with them, and together with a skybridge made of ashfault, jetpack, heart lantern, heart statue, and some pots, I was able to destroy them with ease.
RoyalNapsty May 26, 2017 @ 4:06pm
Oml... Fight Destroyer, get souls of might, make a megashark, and they become 10X easier... Why don't ppl do that first...

So all in all, you should make astraight line of platform, about 300 each, about three to four rows of them with a 10 block span vertically, and 300 horizontaly, fight the destroyer, win in however way you can, get souls of might, make a megashark, get Ichor bullets if your in a crimson world, and crystal if corruption (Because the corruption version of ichor sucks) Use that arena, evade the attacks, and you should have a pretty easy win, (TIP- HAVE A NURSE YOU CAN USE A MAGIC MIRROR TO INSTANT GET TO, IT HELPS A TON)
You wasted your time, this is three years old.
