Well, you are putting them in the slot specifically designed for vanity items...
Yet some people still complain about it.
For example, diving gear and lava waders. I only need diving gear around large bodies of water, and I only need lava waders when around lava, I'd rather not leave them in the more precious inventory slots.
Yet you have how many inventory slots that can serve that purpose just as well? Its not like they take up that much space. Plus given the fact that a safe can be carried around with you and act as a portable chest, its not like they really take up that much inventory space anyway.
I get the social slot storage thing because I do it too but if people want to look good they can use their inventory for storage. After all, that's what it's there for. I don't get the complaints about the social accessory slots. Like the saying goes, "you can't have your cake and eat it too"
Thanks for the tip on the safe, that's something I hadn't thought of buying. I thought it was just another chest.
Wow, that's really gonna change things for you then. The safe is ridiculously convenient since it saves the stored items to your character so even if you somehow lose the safe, everything in it will be accessible from the safe you purchase to replace it. Same thing goes for the piggy bank, though it's less convenient than the safe because it can't be placed directly on the ground. Using both adds a ridiculous amount of extra effective personal inventory space.
As for the social slots as storage issue, I understand that use just fine but (as shadow already pointed out) you can't really complain that something is visible when you use an equipment slot specifically intended for changing your appearance. Can you ignore its intended purpose and use it as storage space due to the way its function was coded? Sure, but how you use those slots isn't relevant to the game's design.
I'm personally finding the climbing claws amusing. They look kinda dumb on the character model but the idea of my character running around with claws on his hands and wielding a katana for his weapon just seems kinda funny to me.
Geez, are you supposed to have the cake and just stare at it? I own a cake and eat it too all of the time.
