I played terraria long ago many patches ago, and then when you put water on the waterleaf it would bloom and give seeds. but now i cant get any seeds to grow them because when i go to the desert and put one block of water on one it wont bloom and only gives the waterleaf

Rain is possible in real-life deserts, it's just a rare occurance. Not sure about the rarity in Terraria, as I don't usually have much reason to stay long in Desert biomes. But once she has 1 seed, she can transplant to a more wet location. According to the wiki, precipitation is possible in all surface biomes. Blizzards happen in Snow Biomes, Rain happens everywhere else.

Yeah, I know it rains in deserts. I also know it is a much more rare occurance; there are parts of the Atacama in Chile, the Sahara in Algeria and the Australian Outback that haven't seen any moisture in literally years. That, and there are reasons why deserts don't accept rain as well as other environments when they do get it, like substrate grain texture and vegetation growth.

But...I was under the impression that if it rained anywhere in Terraria then it rained everywhere in Terraria. And I find it strange that a desert would be getting as much rain as a jungle.

Never mind that, though. "Videogame logic," I guess. My previous post was a joke in reference to that.
