it's the only way to get Souls of Blight, which i need for a new armor set i want to create
The wiki does *not* say that you can. Look again, there's a console icon on that page.
This Ocram dude and Souls of Blight were developed exclusively for the console versions, since the console versions don't get much of the cool stuff that we get in the PC version.
I don't think there's an equivalent tier on PC, but Shroomite Armor is probably better anyway.
The console stuff was added long before Terraria's current endgame. It's pretty much obsolete.

The PC available equivalent of the various Soul of Blight armors would be Beetle, Shroomite and Spectre.
Note that offensive Beetle armor is better than Solar for most encounters, and copper was obviously a joke.
