Ok so what kind of trap is the most effective?
I'm not talking about an entire base setup or a map to download. And I don't mean "which trap does the most damage". I mean what is the most efficient COMBINATION of traps. For example, if I combine lava with spiky ball and dart, will the damage be negated? Is honey better than lava for the sake of hitting foes more times? How should I stagger my traps? should I use multiple timers, or a crab engine, or what? I want ideas moreso than a literal design scheme. And just to clarify, this is for the sake of the standard invasion event (not pvp, not regular zombies, not statue farms)

a small lava pool with a wall is the best trap
>make 2 small lava pools with open enterances
>in the middle make a small room by closing the enterances
>close the top
>stand there while your enemies try to reach you but can't inevitablly slowly but surely dying form the lava
>collect your loot and repeat until bored and decide to kill them instead of letting the land to it for you
I have that already

I mean isn't there a way to maximize damage dealt from it? I can add more traps, but I need to know the precise mechanics of what negates what, or how far to stagger them so they hit as often as possible.

Honey boosts health regen, lava is you can fool players into standing in it, not water, unless its really deep, but even then, Celestial Shell or its upgrades will make that trap obsolete, or even just flippers or its upgrades will soften the effect. The Cute Fishron Mount will actually gain benefits from water, so that's a no-go. Try looting the Dungeon or Temple of spikes, or use Corruption/Crimson/Jungle for its spikes and added Mob spawns. Or statues tied to switches or pressure plates

make the bottom indestructable like with palladium blocks or dungeon blocks
use dynamite
i dont think traps work on mobs like the ones in lizard temples do they?
also use wire and a timer and you can set off explosives or have a switch

Of course they do, but explosives are expensive and only work once.

None of this has anything to do with what I was asking.

explosives can be used more times if you have the ammo reducing consupmtion items/potions

Not the one that connects to wires.
put a couple flame/spear/dart traps on the cieling with a pressure plate that you can't set off but mobs can, and also get acculators with another pressure plate for mobs that just drops them into a pit of lava that they cant get out of, and finally GET A STARDUST DRAGON STAFF AND GO TO TOWN!

minions don't count. And are pressure plates really better than the 1 second timer in an invasion situation?
so that you dont fall down the pit or get stabbed by spear traps

Why would I fall down the pit? I know where it is, and there's no reason I can't go around it...besides, the pit of lava would hurt me anyway
thats why you put an acculator cap on it...

I don't know what that means, or why it matters.

Regardless I'm still talking about the maximum possible dps. Like what traps will override others, damagewise. For example, if you have a row of 3 super dart traps, they will only hit once.
it will only it once with 3x the power
