Bombs destroy locked chests??

I thought locked or item filled chests were unbombable, but my buddy went all caps mode that I appearently blew up a dungeon chest for throwing some sticky bombs down on some spike traps.

Is this an actual thing or am I being guilted for no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason?

Item-filled are unbreakable, I assume locked is the same.

In all of my experience they are indeed indestructable unless they are empty.

Blocks underneath a chest with items in it are indestructible by any means. The only way what you're saying is possible is if the chest had already been emptied.

The dungeon can't be bombed, only spikes and furniture will be affected. I have thrown plenty of bombs on chests pre 1.2, in 1.2 and now in 1.3 without them ever letting go of the ground.

i think its a bug
i was mining under a stocked temple chest and accidentally got the blocks and the chest
i placed it down but the items inside were gone

When I was making a hellevator between the crimson and my jungle I blew the ever loving ♥♥♥♥ out of the surrounding area with dynamite. Sitting in the middle of my hellevator was two floating blocks with a chest on tops. Those things seem pretty indestructible to me.

i used shroomte claws with melee speed enhancing accessories stats plus a minig potion
