Get 4 stacks of arrows or musket balls. Get into hardmode. find the wizard. Buy a crystal Ball. combine the ammo at the crystal ball and get endless musket pouch or endless arrow pouch

Go to a crystal ball and craft the Endless Musket Pouch / Quiver

AFAIK, the only two options for actual infinite ammo are the musket balls and wooden arrows.
For both, simply have about 3-4 full stacks of wooden arrows/musket balls, a crystal ball, and the option to craft an infinite bag should appear in your crafting window.
