Can hammering walls be faster?

With the introduction of the Drill Containment Unit, mining blocks is very fast now. Problem is, the Drill mount doesn't break background walls, so we're stuck with hammers

With that said, is hammering walls affected by the hammer's attack speed like mining with pickaxes is? Will I break walls faster if I use an attack speed setup?

I honestly dont think it effects it, but im not entirely sure

Use any of the four Luminite Hamaxes. It (and most of the Lunar Event tools) break backwalls even faster (Tool Speed 7) than a Laser Drill can break foreground blocks (Tool Speed 8). Reforging it with a prefix that increases speed will make it break objects faster, but you don't need to go for Light or Quick - Legendary works just fine (due to rounding, any of these reduce it to a Tool Speed of 6). The Luminite Hamaxes also have +4 range, giving them much better reach compared to tools that are technically faster (like the Shroomite Digging Claw).

The main reason why the Drill Containment Unit works so extremely fast is because it fires multiple mining lasers that clear out as much as 5.5 blocks each time they tick. Great for cleaning out blocks quickly, terrible if you need any kind of precision.

I don't think anything can speed up hammering walls except prefix on the tool.
And by the way doesn't "Legendary The Axe" is fastest for removing walls?
(But it's a little hard to get it though)

Fixed your link there. The Axe and Luminite Hamaxes have the same toolspeed on PC Terraria. On Console or Mobile, The Axe is slightly faster.

The thing to keep in mind here, is that Luminite Hamaxes have about the same toolspeed, but have +4 range bonus, instead of The Axe's +1. You'll lose less time to repositioning when clearing out a large area when using the Luminite Hamaxes.
