Fixed Antivirus "False Positive" Problem!!!

So everyone's antivirus programs are reading Terraria as a virus and removing their .exe
GO INTO YOUR ANTIVIRUS PROGRAM!! Find your virus chest. Locate the terraria.exe and restor it. DON"T ♥♥♥♥ UP and restore any actual viruses!!

Dont forget to verify cache after so it restores the missing file(s)!

A virus chest (in Avast) is the page that shows a list of all quarantined files. They have different names depending on the program.

you can do it in most antivirus softwares by going to settings and finding the exeptions tabs somwhere in there. Just dig in! GLHF!

i take it out of the virus chest, and it just puts that ♥♥♥♥ back in

You need to restore and add it to exclusions, not just take it out, so it knows that it's not a virus.

It did the restore and stuff, but had uninstalled the game before, but now it won't install again... help please

It worked for me and some others, ; _ ;
if it's giving you a missing executable error that simply means it doesn't have Terraria.Exe in the folder
Do you have multiple antiviruses running?

honestly that's probably a steam problem then, antiviruses shouldn't be preventing an entire download, not sure if I can help with that at all

ok i fixed it, there were like 10 terraria.exe files in there, and 1 was randomly at the bottom, completely ignoring the alphabetical order :D

For avast users: To be 100% sure theres no virus in the file, run scan on the file, in quarantine. If its clean, report "false positive" and add it to your exclusion list for the time being (those 2 "clicable" options on the pop-up notice), it will get sorted out in the next avast update. Now you can play.

Oh, thanks. I mean, I'm no expert I just figured out was going on and thought it would be smart to make sure everyone else knew, since I knew it was a recent problem with avast I knew people would start posting.

Oh, thanks. I mean, I'm no expert I just figured out was going on and thought it would be smart to make sure everyone else knew, since I knew it was a recent problem with avast I knew people would start posting.

True. I just saw so many people clogging the discussions with "How do I fix this????" posts and tried to get your solution heard.
