Best mount(s) in your opinion?

And then in early/late-hardmode?

Well, the slime mount have its uses in early game, the bee mount is the best stuff for flying in pre-hardmode...

Bee mount to me is pretty amazing to have early game, the cosmic car key mount has to be the best mount since it is very fast, and allows you to fight while on it, so a flying fast, pretty effective mount, It is a little tricky to obtain though

Slime is a bit slow but will allow you to drop faster than anything. Makes a hellevator go a lot faster. Bee is alright, but a bit lackluster.
The unicorn in hard mode is probably the fastest land mount you will come across. Faster than boots for sure.

Probably the best mounts though are probably going to be the fish flying thing from Duke on expert or the UFO from the saucers.

Though a mount is a mount, and you shouldn't scoff at a Fuzzy Carrot if you find one ;)

wings until you have the ufo mount and the mining unit. the fishron mount is ok and infinite flight but it flies at 2 mile per hour if you are on the ground and it accelerates slower than molasses so its hard to dodge in multiple directions.

the best mount over all for utility i think is the mining unit just cuz you can mine while in it and it has a pretty huge mining radius plus infinite flight if your just looking to get aronud ufo but then ground mount i think the skultix is the best its so funny looking extremely fast and it will shoot mobs

Fishron mount is great if you're either fighting near a large body of water or if you expect to spend most of the fight below 50% health. If you're not in risk of entering water then the UFO is generally much better than Fishron.

Bee is amazing pre-hardmode.

DCU is of course amazing for making pathways underground and quickly harvesting everything. The main downside is that you basically need a summoner setup to be safe while using it.

I end up using the UFO more than any other mount, but I typically only use it for combat. When traveling on the surface I don't even bother with mounts, I just use my Vortex jetpack's horizontal boost ability.

Can you find Fuzzy Carrots? I always just get it from the angler after so many fish quests.

Pre: Slime Mount (fun fact, equipping him makes you fall faster, which is great for hellevators!)

Post: Duke Fishron Mount (prefer it over the UFO because at 50% hp and below, he speeds up like crazy. He also speeds up if you dunk him in water)

Slime for pre-hard mode, for faster falls and bouncing on heads lol.

None for just starting HM, none really have a purpose since they stop you from flying with boots/wings. I suppose the unicorn makes getting around faster, but it doesn't stop you from getting hurt if you charge into things.

UFO/Fishron for late game cause of infinite flying.

Honeyed Goggles (bee) temporary flight early game
Fuzzy Carrot (Rabbit) fast movement speed when able to maintain it.
Slime (slime) cause the turtle sucks

top 3
Hard Mode:
Shrimpy Truffle (cute fishron) Eternal flight, extreme speed in water
Cosmic Car Key (UFO mount) Eternal flight, very good speed overall [fight the DG with it]
Blessed apple (unicorn) fastest land mount
BONUS
Brain scrambler (scutlix) Fast ground speed, and laser eyes

((DCU is good for mining but not for combat. DCU is more meant for Summoners than any other combat type))
