Jewelfish guide.

So I'm trying to get the Jewelfish. Sounds simple enough but after literally an hour, I've had no luck. I use the corruption rod 20% power and highest bait I have is the master bait. I fish in a 300+ block lake in the underground cavern area. The only rare fish I find are Golden Carps and I found only 1 spider fish. Is the Jewelfish a hardmode only thing? Is it really rare or am I doing something wrong? I don't want to spend hours and hours for one bloody fish.

Nope, Jewelfish are also in non-hardmode worlds too, they can be quite rare sometimes depending on your luck and how high your fishing power is, your 300+ block lake should be okay, but if you still can't find the fish, maybe make a new lake somewhere else and fish for it?

Did you find that Spiderfish the same day you want to fish up a Jewelfish? If so, you're doing something wrong. You can only fish up the specific quest fish after you talk to the Angler that day. Once it's past 4:30 AM, the quest resets and you can no longer fish up a quest fish. You need to go to the Angler again and get a new quest, which most likely won't be the same quest fish.

If you got the Spiderfish that day, it means that the new quest fish is Spiderfish and it's impossible to fish up any other quest fish for the remaining day.

Oh thanks Allen, I must be an idiot. The Quest said Jewelfish and then the next time I checked it said Jewelfish again. The coincedence put me off. Thank you so much <3
