Martian Madness Help
My friends and I are playing on a server together, and yesterday I got probed and the event didn't start. A few minutes later, the server crashed. Since then we haven't seen a single probe and we really want to do the event. Does anyone know of any bugs causing them to possibly not spawn? How common are they? And is there any way to find them easier?

As long as there's an active event, Probes don't spawn. And lots of things count as events.

The group of lunar cultists simply being present at the dungeon entrance counts as an active event...

This happens to me before, but then i was farming Golem (until I get the sun stone, which is rare)

And somehow it spawns when i teleport back to my house
Idk if this works, might as well try better than doing nothing right?

It doesnt count as an active event, IT WILL count if you killed them

I've seen multiple reports that they do count as an active event. Some people even suggested removing a block or two from the Dungeon entrance to prevent them from spawning, one of the only ways to get Probes to spawn again.

I really hate the martian madness event, from practically instakill lazers and the extremely common probes that ensure extreme difficultly if you are trying to do something like the moon lord, as well as almost always killing the nurse who is very crucial in healing throughout events as well as difficult boss fights. I HATE MARTIAN MADNESS

No really you don't want to do it. I mean sure you get a really cool and useful flying mount, or a terrablade upgrade, or a almost endgame drill. but it is still not worth it

I don't see your problem. get somewhere up high on a platform of solid blocks, place a row of solid blocks above you and simply hit the space ships with a yoyo, minions or other weapons that can go through/around blocks. super easy.

seriously those things are so common to me, everytime I try to do something I see one, after seeing one I become more angry due to ALL OF THE TROUBLE they have caused me. my rating for martain madness is 5/10--IGN

Just kill the scout and they won't come...

the one attack that was challenging was the martain deathray, and when I say challenging I mean unfair because in the second phase that thing used the power of RNGJesus to randomly decide I I would die or live, because the attack would occasionally be predictable and occasionally be undodgable, even though I was flying in the air I still had much difficultly. Anyway I don't need to care about the martain madness event anymore because I've killed the moon lord(not on expert yet, I'l have to do it sometime)

before 1.3.0.4 when they extremely easily detected you was when I had a lot of trouble with them. there was also a time when I was fighting the moon lord on expert. I was trying to run away from his attacks to heal and accidentially missed a probe, so then I was fighting martians and the moon lord and then the nurse was killed, making me screwed and causing me to give up for the night.

That deathray from Martian Saucers can't go through blocks. When its four parts are destroyed and it enrages, you just get into a house and it can't hurt you anymore. You can kill it from the comfort of your own home with a freakin' yoyo if you want.

The event is overall pretty easy and grants some of the best loot in the game. And now that Probes can't spawn while other events are active, it's all good (or at least it will be once the cultists aren't considered an active event).

I quite like it.
