How can I fix corrupted worlds (not the biome)
I have put 35+ hours in the past 5 days on a new world... beat all pre-hardmode bosses, got all 15 pre-hardmode NPCs + wizard, got tons of things, and was about to fight a mechanical boss when I decided to take a break. I shut down the server (run it on my computer incase anyone else wants to play with me, and also so I could get wormhole potions) and came back later, and upon opening it, it said "Load failed! No backup found!" I tried opening it in single player, trying to restore a backup (there was none, since my computer is 8 years old and broken so the clock has to be manually set or every 30 minutes or so it would reset the clock (or closing the computer), and the BIOS clock will not change) and so I tried making a copy of the world with .bak added to the .wld file (the other backup was deleted). Upon opening the world (did it in single player) it told me "Load failed! Load backup?" and I said yes, which it said the same "Load failed! No backup found!" Turns out it kept deleting my backup. I tried using TEdit, Recuva, Verify Integrity of Game Cache (said that it had 1 failure). I have installed no mods, and I don't want to have to start everything over, since it was painful having spikes of 1-2 FPS randomly, and around 9-12 FPS regularly. I already ordered a new computer, and it would be arriving soon, so I was hoping I could still have my world when I get the new computer (by moving files). Is there any other fix for it?

EDIT: File is 11MB.

I am not sure what all you did with TEdit, but I will post what worked for my friends.

This happend to my friends twice and both times while in expert mode and far into the game. The way that they got their world back was by going into the folder where the worlds are located and moved them to another location (as a backup, they moved it to the desktop). They then deleted the worlds from that folder then went into TEdit and loaded the world (the one they moved to another location and not the .bak). If it loaded and you can see your world on the main screen in TEdit that is a good sign. Now you should be able to save that world back into the world folder for Terraria and it should work, well it did for my friends.

I hope that they patch whatever causes this issue (also the steam cloud crash issue) soon.

I hope that helps and is not confusing lol.

Upon opening the file with TEdit, it would come up with a black screen. I already have the world file backed up (the corrupted one) so I could try doing things to make it work. The world size is 11MB, so I assume it still has data.

Another thing you can try (however I have not seen nor have read that this worked) is right clicking on the file/folder and selecting "Restore previous versions". If you are lucky there might be a previous version.

Another thing you can try, if you have not done so already and if you have a .bak or the orginal, is to manually remove the .bak from the backup then load that one rather than the game doing it for you (since I read that you were given an option to load a backup).

If for some reason you don't have backups check your trash as I also read that they were getting deleted.

"(the other backup was deleted)"

Also, the Restore previous versions does normally work, but since my computer's clock is broken it does not automatically make backups. I appreciate your help though.

Just a quick edit, TEdit won't open any files, saying:
"System.IO.FileFormatException: Unexpected Position: Invalid File Format Section"
and the class and method of the error.

So there is still a chance I could save my world, just have to find out why it isn't working.

Got the TEdit 1.3 BETA update, so it is fixed. Thanks for your help r£dƒ•x£s.

Great, not sure I helped much, other than just some suggestions lol but I am glad that you got it fixed. Also where did you get the 1.3 beta? I wanted to suggest that earlier, but I could not remember where it was and I did not want to recommend somthing that I was unsure of. I think I had it at one point but did not know how to run it, but that is in the past now. Things are working for you and that is what counts.
