Bees in expert mode
Is it even worth trying to raise the damage of Bee Gun (increased damage modifiers, hive cluster, etc)? Should I resign myself to 1'ing bosses like Skeletron to death, while reserving my reforges for armor and movement speed, or will demonic+magic power potion+damage mods make the bee gun do relevant damage?

You apparently misconstrued the purpose of my message. I was asking a question about game mechanics, not looking for someone to play with.

Apparently Anything bee related with the Hivepack is OP, people kill skeletron with bee grenades and hive pack.

Never tried it myself since im not making a new character but i also do not fully understand how skeletron is hard.......... i mean you dont need bee grenades to kill him but eh each to their own.

Is that so? I'll give it a shot with damage mods then.

That's exactly WHY you don't understand :p
Did you kill Skeletron's arms first? His head has more defense while his arms are still alive.

Bee Gun is pretty useful in expert for me.

I have not yet tried bees vs skeletron. I had some attempts with molten armor, molten fury, and diamond staff, with very little luck. I picked up a bee set for the multiple imps, and got a bee bun and hive pack en route to acquiring the beeswax required to make the set.

My consternation came as a result of seeing the bee gun do a lot of 1's and 2's to many enemies, so I was reluctant to spend the gold reforging everything to damage.

Which ones? Only the Imps in hell I find take a while for the bees, but everything else just gets shredded.

Aren't I the fool. The "1"s I saw were from the Imp Staff's "On Fire" debuff. The bees are hitting monsters for more than enough to make it worth amplifying my damage. Thanks, guys.

I used Beegun and Hivepack against Skeletron worked out quite well. What is important is the fact that you need to have an eye on your Mana so regenpotions and maybe even a Manaregenband are really usefull (if you don't want to use Beenades) otherwise just use the usual Potion buffs like Ironskin, Magicpower, Regenneration and Well Feed and he should go down quite easily. Only thing that can be frustrating is the fact that the bees like to target the face even if the arms are still up so position is also important so that they stick to the arms.

Just make sure to not do the same stupid thing i did by using the slimemount asnd bouncing on him when he spins cause that made him despawn when i came back down when he had only 300 HP left. Had to wait the entire day for the Old Man to respawn but on the second try it worked wonders (also this was with Hornets not Imps cause i forgot that i could get them at this point kinda rusty after not playing to much).

Got him down to half, without optimizing my modifiers, and without a heart lantern. Bees are workin' like a charm.
