Can you create your own underground hallow/ice biome

I'm looking for the scaly truffle, is it possible to just place down a lot of snow/ice in the underground hallow to create the biome needed? If so, how could you tell whether it counted as the underground hallowed ice biome or not?

Yes, yes you can. The easiest way I can think of is to buy the Clentaminator from the Steampunker and then go nuts with blue solution to spread hallow everywhere. Either that, or you can goto the underground Hallow and create your own artificial ice biome with ice & snow.
