According to the wiki, it boosts throwing weapon (shurikens, throwing knives, etc.) damage and velocity, and grants a buff that lowers consumption of throwing items. Probably not worth using IMO.

true but i had to restart since my old saves got deleted
so now i rely on the pure knockback of a boommerang and yo yo's to stop me from dying

It's for throwing items only, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't affect boomerangs or yoyos (which are considered melee weapons).

Apparently it's actually pretty good with Bone Javelins; the Javelins have decent base damage and do 3 damage per second for 15 seconds after hitting something, so you can do great damage with that set.

Of course, it probably becomes worthless as soon as you get into Hardmode.

The issue with the armour is that nine times out of ten you'll already be at the stage where you can make Shadow/Crimson armour. If I recall right both armours give much better defense and in Crimson's case, a much more useful set bonus. They realy should have allowed you to mine it with a golden pickaxe. I mean it's not like it's more powerful that space armour. Also why the hell can't I blow it up?!?!

I've got to agree with that... by the time you can actually get it, it's already kind of a sidegrade.

It's protected by fairly powerful monsters too, so it's not like you could just walk in early game and get it right away.

And in the meantime, someone can just fall on an Arkhalis 10 minutes into the game...

Strange placement in progression.
