Is there a way to disable quick stack's making new stacks?

I definitely like being able to just click a button to stack everything to nearby chests, but I don't so much like it creating new stacks inside the chests to hold more stuff - I tend to carry a stack of healing potions in my inventory, but it keeps getting pulled in because there's already a stack of them in a chest. I'd have to carry every single one to avoid accidentally going out with none at all.

I realize that stacks in my hotbar are protected, but I have other things I need to access there - I use H to trigger a healing potion, I don't need it taking up a hotbar slot. Is there any way, short of filling chests up so they CAN'T hold another stack, to prevent this?

you can alt left click on items that you dont want to quick stack into chests

Favoriting items is possibly my favorite new feature in 1.3. Thank you devs! So as previous poster said, alt-click on items such as your healing potions, torches, etc. that you want to have some of always. This feature combined with the stack to nearby chests are a god-send for someone like me who loves to organize everything well.
