Corrupted World (HELP!!)
Okay so I had my main world way back in 1.2, and I had beaten Duke Fishron, basically completing the game. I was just keeping for new updates and stuff. I went on one day and the world started to load, but crashed, with Terraria unable to find a solution. It has been doing that to this day. When 1.3 came out I decided to move my main world (still not working) to cloud in hopes of being able to use it when the game came out for Mac. (I use a PC for Terraria, but I was going to switch to Mac once it came out). After I moved my world to cloud, it was taken off of my world select. I did some reseach and it turns out that my files for that world are still in the "Worlds" folder in my "Terraria" file (C:\Documents\My Games\Terraria\Worlds). Now I have no clue how to bring back my world to the "World Select" list in game. Also, I tried to bring my world back, but I can't load from a previous save, due to Windows 8. And even then, when I go into properties of the world, it says "Earth.wld.bad" and I dont know how to fix that either. If someone can please bring the world back onto the "World Select" list in game and/or getting the world to work in general, I will be forever grateful and I will probably give you items from TF2 and CSGO. I really want my world to work :((

Since this was sort of brought on by the update, there is one thing you can try. You'd have to use the experimental version of TEdit for Terraria v1.3. Yes, I know that glitchy 3rd party software runs risks, but this might be your only bet to recover your world. I did this for my world load failure for a world that was generated in v1.2.4.1 and it worked.

Here is the reddit thread with the link to the TEdit Beta/Experimental for Terraria v1.3.

The links to the download are green text in the opening post. It goes to github.com and the download button is on the right, "Download ZIP". Make sure to follow all the steps the opening poster listed to get it up and running. Of course, it's only in experimental phase so even then it might not work on some computers. Try a different computer if possible if this happens.

Next, make a backup copy of your Terraria save folder just in case TEdit messes something up or you make a mistake inside it.

After that, open up your world in TEdit and just save it again in TEdit. You don't really have to do anything else. Start up Terraria and see if your world will load successfully.

thank you so much for finding this, but my only problem is that i cant choose the world on TEdit probably because its not available to play on Terraria. it won't show up. but another thing is, is that my new world i made won't show up in TEdit either, but shows up and works just fine on Terraria. that world also doesnt have a "WLD file" in the "worlds" in my Terraria files. only a file association thing, just like my corrupted one. I'm not sure what to do anymore. lets just hope that when I shared my world to cloud that it will show up in game on my Mac..:((
