Angler Quests

I need help with angler quests. I literly cannot find the right fish. If im sent to get a jungle cat, the jungle cat fish won't appear in the jungle when i go fishing. And if I'm fishing in my spare time, none of the quest fish show up. Is there any way I can improve this, or am I just bad at the quests.
(Note: I use reinforced fishing rod.)

I think you have the right Idea just bad luck... Try fishing potions and getting a better rod, You can get a better one from the traveling merchant or sometimes the mechanic. Or if you feel like it find the fibre glass pole underground.

Whenever you get a fishing quest, he will tell you at the bottom where to fish. You have to be VERY specific. If it says 'Underground'... then you have to go to the underground level, that is NOT considered anything else. It can't be an Underground Jungle, or Underground Tundra, etc. Trust me, I have been trying to do these fishing quests since the new update, just to try to get a cell phone... and the Angler won't give me the items I need. But, once you realize the right locations to fish, it ends up being very easy.
Also, as you fish, you'll eventually get fishing potions and better baits. Use the best rod and bait you have, and if you know for a fact that you're in the right spot... but are still having problems, use a potion. The higher your fishing level is, the better chances you have of catching quest fish, or higher tier crates.

One very important thing to remember is... they aren't really quests.

He just tells you what kind of fish he's looking for that day (from 4:30 to 4:30), and if the day runs out while you're fishing, he'll switch to another fish. Only the quest fish he's looking for on that particular day can be caught that day, all other types simply aren't available.
