Golden crate farming

What is the best way to farm golden crates, sky crates, jungle crates, and crimson crates etc?

Obviously, Crate Potions would help, as would higher fishing power.

Other than that... can't really think of anything. Golden Crates, which you get quite often just from regular fishing, are the only ones that give unique loot. I'm not done with the fishing quests and I already have a bunch of Sundials and turtle mounts.

Make sure that you're fishing in bodies of water that are at least 200 blocks in size. Otherwise you'll sometimes fish up useless trash items like old shoes.

For golden crates, make a lake in the forest biome that is 300 tiled waters big, this will ensure you get no junk. Drinking a crate potion will greatly increase the chance of getting a crate making it easier to get the crates you need. I highly recommend getting the High Test Fishing Line so that your line won't break, which could end up in losing a crate. If you don't already have 100% fishing power, fishing between: 4:30 - 6:00 am and 6:00pm - 7:30pm will both grant you +30% fishing power. Fishing potions will increase your fishing power even further, making it a good investment. If you want to craft plent of crate potions, it isn't that hard to get the ingredients for it if you know where the come from. Amber comes from putting blocks in the extractinator, but i recomend you put fossil blocks into them, as they have a higher chance of yielding amber than silt or slush. Deathweed is a commond find in the corruption and yield seeds if harvested during a bloodmoon, if you want to farm them. Moonglow is a glowing stooping flower that is found in underground jungle and blooms during night time, so if you want to find them easier, look for them during night time. If you want golden crates, fish in the purity.

Also, Is fishing from the Angler worth it I went through the loot he gives and im nor quite sure.

Only if you want better fishing power for better catches, easier bait gathering and the phone which saves a ton of inventory slots and even works as a magic mirror.

So im guessing that a quest every once in a while is worth it for the loot? If so I will continue doing the quests i just wasnt sure if i was using my time wisely. (:

I've done over 50 of them hoping to get the stuff I need for the cellphone, but am still missing the weather radio (which I would be willing to trade pretty much any other item for). The problem is the stupid one quest per day restriction. They really need to get rid of that.

I kinda agree with the one day restriction because then everyone would have golden crates and all the biomes special items before they have killed skeletron.

Exact same issue here. Missing the Weather Radio alone to make the cell phone (I've gotten multiple Pocket Guides and Sextants), and that stupid fish guy will only let me complete one task a day.

Very irritating, especially since it's only a convenience upgrade. At some point during progression, the one fish a day limit should be lifted, it serves no purpose.
