What is the best prehard mode fishing gear?

Hey, I would like to ask the question of what is the best prehard mode fishing gear? As I am trying to get crates for hard mode so that I don't have to go mining, but I don't know what the best prehard mode fishing gear. The things I would like to know are:
The best fishing rod/pole
The best bait
The best potion/potions to use
The best equipables and gear

I would also appreciate it if you would tell me how to get these items and what is the best way to get them.

I currently use the fisher of souls for pre hardmode. Easier to obtain and I`m not too much of a fishing nut so I use any bait :P

Master bait, sitting duck or golden pole, sonar, fishing and crate up pots, fisherman suit and fish hook earring.

i got the sitting duck fishing rod from traveling merchant and works well
and you can also buy a mechanics fishing pole from the mechanic during waning cresent

You can always buy sitting duck's fishing pole (40% power) also you can catch worms (25% bait power) and turn them into night crawlers (with 1 star; 35% power)

You get them as quest rewards off the Angler. ;-;

Hey, i have the best pre hardmode fishing gear, so here is a list...
Full angler fishing outfit - 15 fishing power
Golden fishing rod - 50 fishing power
Master bait (pun intended) -50 fishing power
High test fishing line - your fishing line never breaks
Angler earring ( i think ) - 10 fishing power
Fishing potion - 10 fishing power
And a crate potion if you like 😀
