Strange plants not spawning

If anyone is having strange plants spawn on this current version if so say what your doing because I've tried everything I've made massive dirt sky bridges in space above the ocean and de grassed large areas of my spawn

well the dye trader says the most RARE and EXOTIC flora for a reason m9 (also i dont think plants grow in space)

They grow in the space layer just fine. So far, the only two I've ever found were on floating islands

I found one right next to my base in the starting forest biom after the last patch.

160 hours of playtime since 1.3 came out, still haven't seen a single Strange Plant anywhere. Neither have my two friends who are playing with me.

I'm not exactly sure if this might help, but in our world it seemed to do so -
We picked up all the other dye flowers as soon as they spawned/we saw them and after ~2 ingame days the first strange plant spawned.
Before this method we waited many RL hours for one to spawn.

Hope this might help you guys too.

I don't know what happened for them to spawn, God knows I've been back and forth across the map many times looking and never clapped eyes on one for ages, but all of a sudden they just started appearing. Found about five so far.

Underwater, jungle and forest is where I've seen them. All on or near the surface.
