Do plantera bulbs respawn?

I died the first time, and went to find anoher bulb, it despawned as I was luring it to the arena I'd made, and the same thing happened two more times. Now I can't find any more bulbs and I'm worried I've screwed myself.

The spawn at a more or less fixed rate over time (new ones appear every ingame day) to any jungle area. As long as there is a large enough space and no other bulbs around they will keep popping out like weeds. Might be a good idea to build an underground arena of man made jungle. Check back every now and then to see if any bulbs have appeared. To speed things up you can remove (doesn't have to be 100%, just enough to up the odds in your favour) the natural jungle from the world force the bulbs to only spawn at the arena. I'd turn the jungle into a mushroom biome so that it's easy to turn back, and it's much brighter so you can loot any remaining chests.

Where did you get that every in-game day a plantera bulb will spawn? Because from my experience that isn't true at all.

Never spawns for me, and if it does, it is always in a spot I have not explored before...
