What to do after Wall of Flesh (Expert)
We killed wall of flesh but the monsters in hard mode are too strong and we can't farm anything. What do we do next?

You break the demon alters to infuse your world with new ores. You then take the first new ore you can mine, make gear, then make a new pick. You absolutely have to have a pick made of one of the ores to mine the next step up if you don't import items from other players. Getting enough ores is the hard part, once you've got your new armor and weapons, trying to take on mobs and a new boss becomes much easier. Another thing you could try is reforging accessories to give you either 4% damage increase or +4 defense.

better reforge all accessories to "warding" prefix because defence in expert mode reduce damage better then on normal mode, on normal it's 1/2 deruction, on expert 1/1+-2

for expert mode grab reward bag from eater of the world it gives 17% damage reduction

potions:

iron skin
regeneration
flasks (for melee)

for boss fights build proper arenas, search exact boss and read on wiki tactics http://terraria.gamepedia.com/

The alternative to the alters (and adding more hollow/corruption to the world), provided you've isolated most of your base from hollow/corruption and have the time to spend on it, is to fish up crates. Each crate has a chance of giving you a handful of hardmode ores when the crates are opened in hardmode, with iron or gold crates giving bars. Doing fishing can also give you materials for potions (10% damage reduction is useful) and a handful of other things via fishing quests. It's better to start this pre-hardmode due to various biome specific requirements, but is a secondary option if you have not broken any altars yet.

If you've broken altars however, you should consider yourself working against the clock in terms of saving your world from hollow/corruption. While Hollow is generally the less destructive, both can make mining more difficult until you get better equipment. Corruption can however slowly take over large portions of the jungle giving you less chance of the ore used for most of the mid-tier equipment in hardmode.

Ice and forest biomes are the easiest when starting hardmode... With ice having a number of significant upgrades. You should also probably mine out most of the ice biome since this can quickly be claimed by either corruption or hollow. Desert has a few more useful components (including fossils) but is significantly more difficult due to the new mobs added in the recent patch that don't have any real meaningful drops. As you mine these areas, save any slush, silt, or fossils you come across since this can give you a good amount of ore, including ore types that don't generate in your world.

get the worm scarf (damage reduction), the honeyed goggles (flight mount) and the best yoyo you can find (+yoyo glove if you can get it), i used these often for early bosses. lokk up what youd like.
