Unlocked Recipes in Crafting

I played Terraria on the xbox 360 for a long time, but I heard that 1.3 was coming out for Terraria on computer, so I bought it on Steam. I already notice major improvements in gameplay, but one thing that has been bugging me is the crafting. In xbox edition, you can see all crafting recipes that you have unlocked, even if you don't have the ingredients for it. I can't seem to find a way to make this possible for the computer version. This would help guide me for what to do next, as well as see all of the new things that 1.3 had added.

Anyways, there's probably some sort of really simple answer to this, but I can't find it. I am willing to use mods if I need to.

The guide tells you what is made of what you show him, talk to him and choose ''crafting'' also tells you what you need to make it.
