My Money Trough disappeared from my inventory
Is there any way to get it back?

I've lost probably five of these now. Does anyone know why they vanish?

I haven't kept track of when they vanished as I'd gathered so many of them, but now i seem to have run out. :sad_creep: My only guess is that it happens when switching from an expert world to a normal one? I've been doing a rather lot of that lately.

I've never lost mine but i only play Expert with the character so...

Do you use the quick stack to nearby chests? It sounds like they would auto-stack into a chest that you might have put one in already. Either that or maybe you put it inside the piggybank inventory itself? Just a couple of ideas as I've never had mine disappear

[EDIT] Also, I've changed between expert and normal and I still had my trough

I had that happen a few times, but in my case it was because I was using it straight from my inventory and accidently dropping it. Now I just keep it in my item bar.

It's true, quick-stack will place Troughs in a chest containing another. I found four in one of mine, though I'm still unsure if I sold the remainder or if they've vanished. I'm hoping for the fomer! :terraria:

In multiplayer I used to sometimes lose weapons and items by accidentally pressing the "Throw" key (default set to 'T'). After I figured it out I simply rebound the Throw key to something on the other side of my keyboard.

Yes, accidentally quick stacking your Money Trough to a nearby chest occurs when:
1) your Money Trough is in your inventory (but not favorited nor in your toolbar);
2) you are standing near a chest containing another Money Trough;
3) your inventory is open / displayed (but you are not accessing any other chests/containers);
4) and you click on the "Quick stack to nearby chests" icon.

This is true for any inventory item not in your toolbar or ammo inventory spots.

Basically <ALT>-<Left Mouse Click> all inventory items to "favorite" them so they won't get quick stacked. Favorited inventory items have that squiggly square outline (looks like a digital / blocky sine wave).

Items are no longer favorited after you manually move them out of your inventory. Need to re-favorite after you pick them up again.

From the wiki (under 1.3.0.1 History notes):

"Added ability to favorite items by pressing Alt+Left Click. Favorited items cannot be quick-trashed, quick-stacked, or deposited."

I rewatched my stream because I lost my Money Trough with 50 gold in it, and I saw that I accidentally picked out silver but switched it with the Money Trough and stored the Trough in itself. Does that mean it's gone forever????

This thread is 6 years old. Make your own thread.

The Money through is identical to the Piggy Bank.
Buy a Piggy Bank and open it up to find your stored Through
