CAR or Hallowed Repeater?

I've had a Clockwork Assault Rifle since the beginning of Hardmode, and I just killed the Twins with it.

Should I make the Hallowed Repeater (I currently have the Palladium Repeater with Frostburn Arrows) or save the bars for something else?

I have two Mechanical Eyes so I could in theory kill the Twins again for more bars and stop caring what I make, but I want to be better equipped if I have to fight them again.

I mean my Rainbow Rod makes everything else irrelevant anyways but I'd like a decent non-magic ranged weapon to use.

Personally i never liked bows/repeters as the arrows they fire are slower moving then bullets, bullets also have more diversity, high velocity, chorophyte that home-in etc etc. Having said that, Phantasm bow with luminite arrows is amaze-balls

I like both the bullet weapons and the bows.

Does the Hallowed Repeater fire near as fast as the C.A.R? They're both labled as "Very Fast Speed".

Clockwork Assault Rifle fires 3 bullets at once, so it's better than other weapons until the individual damage per bullet is too low to get through armor.

Just don't use piercing bullets with it, or the enemies will only get hit once.

i tested on dummy with dps meter, and the results ar ethat hallowed repeater does about 80% dmg of clockwork assault riffle. also with clockwork you can use crystal bullts which greatly increase dps. however with repeaters and unholy arrows you could use piercing against destroyer, if you dont prefer to make flamethrower insted

Well the clockwork assault rifle is much better against the eyes , but the bow with jester/demon arrows for example is really good against the destroyer because both of the arrows pierce multiple segments

I use a hallowed repeater with hellfire arrows as my current pre-mech boss weapon, because the knockback is insane with hellfire arrow. Its amazing for solar eclipses, only eyezor touches you.

Against bosses though, unless its the destroyer, a Clockwork rifle with crystal bullets will serve you better.

I guess I'll keep the rifle and use the bars for armor later on.
