Should I restart with new character, world, or both?

I have 145 hours in Terraria, but at least 140 of those were with 1.0.5.

Is it worth it to start completely over with new world and character or are most of the additions to the game in hard and expert mode?

I restarted after around 100 hours lmfao. There's a lot of content added in that you'll appreciate if you play it from the beginning.

I did. I erased my character (I should have kept him, has he had some rad stuff, but well) and started an expert world. And man, did I enjoy it. It's pretty tough, but IMO really worth it.
