Can I change from Normal to Expert mode?

My and my friends created a Normal world to play in, but we later decided we wanted to go and play expert mode, is this still possible to be changed after the creation?

Because mining the houses away and building them in a new Expert mode world will take a very, very long time, because I build a lot :P

So does anybody know if this is possible, because it will really helps us out.

nope the only way to have expert mode is to create a new world

or find a 3rd party program that can edit worlds but i would recomrnd making back ups

Well, my friends really, really wanted it...
I don't want to let them down, so we can at least try it.
I'll keep the other world just in case.

I've played since the update on Expert mode on a brand new character, I'm happy today i just defeated Eye of Cthulu and Slime king :3

Yes the Expert mode is alot harder.

A tip, Grab some armour :P

(To be honest: I don't like to try expert mode now, but hey, they're my friends)

I'm really happy that i choosed Expert mode, that's the best experience i've had. Before i just played on Normal difficultly, and everything there so easy. You gotta try out the Expert mode.

Also, you can tell your friends that there is some exclusive items avalible only at Expert mode, such as some mounts, and alot of weapons. :)


I joined my friend's server (he was playing Normal mode) we had done the same progress ( with that i meant we have the same armour and same tools etc, ) And my Weapons was alot better than he's, Alot.

You should try it out just saying :)


Try to get as much of Defence bonus you can get. That will help you alot.

oh you mean that thing ive beat in a couple of days more or less by myself with 1-2 people being on for like 1 or 2 days?

yeah its hard but only after you beat the cultist and start the lunar event and martian invasion.

The UFO's were a bummer to fight till i got their pattern down.

ASSUMING OF COURSE YOU DIDENT MAKE A NEW CHARACTER FOR THE 100TH TIME AND JUST WENT FOR THE NEW ENDGAME CONTENT.

All in all, i actually died to boss/monsters in terraria with this new patch and expert.
And that impress's me.

but i did it, i got all the expert boss lewts, Ima blow my confetti.

Plus that damage reduction on the worm scarf is nice specially if you get it warding.

There is a way, what you have to do is download T edit and you are able to change your word to hard mode or expert or both. just search a tutorial on how to edit your world
