Just what is the point of booster tracks?
So it seems like a bunch of them can accelerate you to full speed quickly, but they're pretty much useless other than that?

I thought they would at least increase max speed slightly or something. What practical use is there for them as they are?

Uhh, all tracks have that? That is just the placement range, it doesn't mean anything.
