Best pre-hardmode gear for Wall of Flesh?
Kinda new player here, never been to hard mode. I am working on carving out a long arena in the Underworld so I can fight by shooting over my shoulder as I flee (LOL) but would love to know what weapons and gear and potions and such to bring to the fight. :)

The new Bee bow (i don't remember the name XD , drop from Queen Bee) is very good for this boss.

i'd bring a minishark and a star cannon, with molten armor. as for potions, bring anything that'll boost your stats, as well as food for the general buff.

I have the Phoenix Blaster and the Space Gun. I have a full set of meteor armor so the space gun does not consume mana - is that more valuable than the Phoenix Blaster?

Also, I have some Jester Arrows and Unholy Arrows - is a bow worth bringing to the fight?

Finally, I just got the Night's Edge sword. Is that of any use here, or should I be fighting 100% at range?

Phoenix Blaster with Meteor Shots will be a definite must. Night's Edge or Sun Fury can be used to bring down the Hungry the WoF start with.

i personally like using jungle armor with demon scythe and celestial magnet so i never run out of mana.

Up to 50 Musket Bullets and one Meteorite Bar. One bar is used on 50 bullets, so it would be good to have as many as possible.

OK that sounds easy enough. Do Meteor rounds pierce through several enemies?

It can pierce or bounce once before dissapating, but they will prove useful against WoF. Especially as you can hit the eyes twice per shot.

Stay out of melee range. Simply touching the Wall will deal a crap ton of damge. You want to keep your distance and shoot at it, either with magic or guns.

And try to keep up with the wall, failure to do so will make it grab you with its tongue. Any blocks you touch while grabbed will damage you.
