Whats the easiest way to get this achievement?

I think find armor that provides the best ammout to the number of minions you can summon.
Then find a staff that you can use to summon a minion.
Though I'm not sue if pets and light pets count to the achievement.

get the shrine that gves +1 minion buff. get tiki armor, get papyrus scroll etc all the things that give bonus. getting the 9 minions is good summoner equip you cant get it extremely easily. find someone who has the equip and wear it for a minute ^^

Stardust armor gives 5 minions (Guardian doesn't count), necromancer scroll from mourning wood (Pumpkin Moon) gives a minion, you start with one minion, the bewitching table gives a minion, and the summon potion gives a minion. You now have 9 minions to complete the achievement

Actually you dont need the potion. It also counts if you have 8 and spawn another one. (the 9th wouldn´t appear on the screen but counts for the achivement)

Guardian actually does count, it takes up a summon slot.
(as you try to summon something past what you can you will observe the guardian re-appearing out of you as if its resetting because its a perm minion granted with the armour)

So yes it does count.

Base Minion Capacity is 1.

Armor sets are NOT equal with added Minions:
-Bee Armor (made from 30 Beeswax) gives +2 Minion Capacity
-Spider Armor (made from 36 Spider Fangs) give +3 Minion Capacity or +4 if you're *only* using the Spider Staff (made from 16 additional Spider Fangs)
-Tiki Armor (bought for 150 Gold from the Witch Doctor while holding a Pygmy Staff in a world where Plantera has been killed) allows +4 Minion Capacity
-Spooky Armor (made from 750 Spooky Wood) gives +3 Minion Capacity
-Stardust Armor (made from 36 Luminite Bars + 45 Stardust Fragments) allows +5 Minion Capacity

The following stack and add +1 Minion Capacity:
-Pygmy Necklace (bought for 40 Gold from the Witch Doctor at Night under the same conditions as the Tiki Armor)
-Necromantic Scroll (dropped by Mourning Wood during a Pumpkin Moon)
-Papyrus Scarab (combine a Necromantic Scroll with a Hercules Beetle, which is sold by the Witch Doctor for 40 Gold when he's living in the Jungle under the same conditions as the Tiki Armor)
-Summoning Potion (crafted with 1 Bottled Water + 1 Variegated Lardfish + 1 Moonglow at a placed Bottle or Alchemy Table)
-Interacting with a Bewitching Table (found in the Dungeon or sold by the Witch Doctor for 10 Gold when the Wizard is also living in your world)

Minimum, you need access to a Hardmode world where Skeletron, Queen Bee, the 3 Mechanical Bosses, and Plantera have been killed, the ability to last long enough through a Pumpkin Moon, and luck to get a Mourning Wood to drop at least 1 Necromantic Scroll and non-Expert Plantera to drop a Pygmy Staff.

With all available Buffs, Accessories, and Stardust Armor, you can summon a total of 11 Minions. You only need 8 and to *try to summon* a 9th to pop the Achievement, so even Bee Armor can do the trick if you have the 3 Accessories and both Buffs up.

What definitely works is:
1. Stardust Armour
2. Pygmy Necklace
3. Necromancer Scroll
4. Scarab Scroll-thingy
and then a summon potion will do the trick.
All those combine are a definite way to get it.

twins staff summons 2 but they each count as .5 so it doesnt matter what staff you use
