What do they do?

Placing them into any chest will turn that chest into a hallowed/crimson/corruption Mimic, depending on what key you use and what world formed, but you have to defeat the wall of flesh first, and be careful, i ran into a hallowed mimic randomly and it had alot of health and could jump through walls.

They ruin your day.

As stated above, placing them into an empty chest turns the chest into a corrupted/crimson(dark key) or Hallowed (light key) Mimic with drastically increased HP and damage compared to other Mimics.

But it's worth it, as these special mimics drop special powerful weapons.

Farm those mimics, especially the light key one as if you get the bow it eviserates the destroyer.
