Why would i EVER use the hover board,

I got the hover board and it sucks compared to the duke fishron wings. It say's that i can hover with it but i could do it with the fishron wings too by quickly-tapping fly AND i could do it longer with them so why would i ever use the hover board? (I can also move faster and go higher with duke)

hoverboard. if you press the down direction you will hover in place. if you move left or right while hovering, you will move extrememly quickly.

true, the duke fishron wings makes the hoverboard obsolete, but the hoverboard was out a whole update before fishron wings existed.

I preferred the hoverboard over any wings, despite the lower maximum height, just because that left and right movement gave it much more maneuverability.

although now, i use the fishron wings as well.

There's also the fact that you have to beat a difficult boss to get those wings.

Getting the hoverboard just takes some farming.

basically you can translate this question into "why use this item when you can use the best item instead"? why use any item except the best items then?
